Whose country this is -- and whose it most certainly is not? -- By Edith Ognall, Netanya

Whose country this is -- and whose it most certainly is not?

By Edith Ognall – Netanya

The President, PM and education minister teach the ABCs of Zionism and loving thy neighbour?   This was reported,   but I am left wondering how they will explain to the school children that in Israel, loving they neighbour often turns out to be our enemies to whom we make the most unbelievable concessions. In contrast, when our own people stand up proudly for our rights they are called right wing extremists and a greater threat to Israel than Hamas.

Netanyahu reminded the pupils of their alphabet.  Alef for aretz (land) this is your land, Bet, bayit (home). This is our land, this is our country, always remember this.
How will he explain to those children why he has already surrendered many important parts of 'their' Land to our/their enemies including Judaism's holiest site, The Temple Mount -- with a suicidal 2 state solution or similar still to come?
Hopefully their generation will not be so easily lulled into complacency by a forked tongue and will not accept being dhimmis under Moslem rule in 'their' own country.

President Rivlin will also have to explain to them why he believes there are 2 peoples with rights to 'their' land with 2 legitimate narratives and we must live together.
They will eventually have to know that this other people only came into existence in 1967.
Perhaps they will ask how they can have rights to the Jewish Land. How and why we allowed them to poach our narrative and present it as their own.

Hopefully the next elections may they be soon, will put an end to the ambivalence about whose country this is -- and whose it is most certainly not,  and will clarify from whom we will proceed to free the Jewish Land.
