NEW Mattot Arim campaign discredits ICC's accusations against Israel
Responding to ICC's decision to prosecute Israel, Mattot Arim, an Israeli NGO, has immediately begun a campaign to discredit ICC accusations against Israel.
The new campaign demonstrates that settlement illegality rhetoric is deliberately used by terrorist groups to justify acts of deliberate murder. Such data has never been published before, the organization said.
The new campaign also quotes a statement to the New York Times, by the world's foremost legal expert on Israel's legal standing, the late Prof. Eugene Rostow, that Israel's settlements are "unassailably" legal.
The new campaign was released shortly after Israel's prime minister accused the ICC of investigating
Israel for fake war crimes while refusing to investigate brutal dictatorships who commit horrific atrocities almost daily. "The ICC is not a court -- it is an unjust organization which persecutes the innocent and absolves the guilty by omission," Mattot Arim activists said. "Judea-Samaria is a complex legal issue. There are opposing legal views. One legal view holds that close Jewish resettlement of Judea-Samaria is both permissible and to be encouraged, under international law. It is totally legal for a sovereign state, like Israel, to choose one legal viewpoint and not the opposite legal viewpoint. In fact that is exactly what being sovereign means."
Mattot Arim is calling
for the ICC to be defunded.
