27 המנדטים ה"פנויים" (אותם אזרחים שלא יודעים האם ולמי להצביע), "כיכבו " בעיתוני סוף השבוע . חשוב מאד לאתר את אותם 27 מנדטים ולדאוג שהם  יצביעו  למפלגות שמתנגדות להקמת מדינה פלשתינית.   

 

כולנו מתבקשים לחפש בסביבה הקרובה שלנו את 27 המנדטים הצפים!!

 

איפה הם?? לחפש את כל האנשים ש"לא מתעניינים בפוליטיקה". קודם כל  נסו את המשפחה המורחבת - כל מי שלא מתעניין בפוליטיקה ולא מבין בזה כלום. כנ"ל במקום העבודה.  כנ"ל אנשים שאתה סתם אומר להם שלום כל יום :  הכרטיסן בתחנת הרכבת, בעל המכולת, האמהות בגן המשחקים, המוקדנית ב-144, המוכרות בבית המרקחת, הרופא שלך, אחות טיפת חלב, המטפלת במעון, המנקה בבנק, הפקידים בדואר וכן צעירים כמו למשל הילדים או הנכדים של מכרים שלך, שמצביעים בפעם הראשונה ולא תמיד יודעים למי. כמו כן כל אדם שאתה רואה, גם אינך מכיר אותו, שיש לו "פנים טובות".  

 

לכל הנ"ל אפשר וצריך להסביר, שכדאי להצביע למפלגה  שלא תביא טילים לתוך הסלון של הבית. יש להסביר שמדינה פלשתינית תביא טילים לעיר שלכם ספציפית (ירושלים, תל-אביב, רמת-גן, פתח תקווה, חולון, בת-ים, גבעתיים, בני ברק, ראשון לציון, רחובות, רמלה, מודיעין, כפר סבא, נתניה, הרצליה, רעננה, נמל-תעופה בן-גוריון  וכו' ) . משהו כמו "הטילים בדרך לסלון שלך. ביום שלישי הבא 10 בפברואר  אתה יכול לעצור אותם – אם תגיע לקלפי  ותצביע למפלגה שמתנגדת למדינה פלשתינית".  לפני שמסבירים - לברר רקע: לשאול בנימוס ובעדינות, האם הוא יודע שיש בחירות, מה היו התוכניות שלו, למי חשב אולי להצביע, מדוע, וכו'. 

 

להזכירכם: איחוד לאומי, בית יהודי, ישראל ביתנו וש"ס מתנגדות להקמת מדינה פלשתינית. אפילו הליכוד התקדם קצת   והביע התחלה של התנגדות להקמת מדינה פלשתינית, למשל: http://www.ynet.co.il/articles/0,7340,L-3661978,00.html

הערה: הליכוד התקדם בנושא הזה רק בגלל כל הפעילים שעבדו או עובדים על נושא מדינה פלשתינית - לכן תודה רבה לכל התורמים הנדיבים, לכל הגרפיקאים המתנדבים, למחלקי הפליירים ובקיצור לכל הפעילים.

 

מי שהסכים להמלצה שלך  להצביע למפלגה זו או זו - לבקש את מספר הטלפון שלו ולצלצל אליו ביום הבחירות כדי להזכיר לו.  יש לזכור שמאות אלפי בני-אדם מצביעים ללבני וברק פשוט מפני שהם ראו דווקא את השניים האלה בטלויזיה (בימי המלחמה) ואלה הפוליטיקאים היחידים שהם בכלל מכירים. רוב האנשים הללו ימניים בדיעותיהם, נדיר מאד למצוא מישהו מהם שהוא בעד מדינה פלשתינית לכן חבל על כל קול. להסביר להם שאסור להצביע לברק או לבני כי הם בעד מדינה פלשתינית, הם יסכימו איתך, ולסכם איתם על חלופה אחרת.  זכור גם, שאתה לא עובד לבד. בכל המדינה רבבות אנשים עושים את מה שאתה הולך לעשות. לדווח לנו על כל הצלחה (את מי מצאת, איך מצאת אותו וכו'): mattot.arim@gmail.com

" הסיכוי האחרון של ציפי לבני להיבחר לראשות הממשלה (תקציר  מתוך הטור של חנוך דאום בידיעות אחרונות)

  

 איך תוכל לבני להיות ראש הממשלה הבא של ישראל?   פשוט מאד. אנשי הציונות הדתית יצביעו לליכוד.  זו הדרך היחידה שבה נתניהו יוכל להפסיד בבחירות הללו.  החישוב די קל:  על פי כל החישובים, גוש הימין זוכה ל 62-66 מנדטים, רוב חוסם לכל הדעות.  אך אם אנשי הציונות הדתית המתלבטים יצביעו לליכוד, הרי שהאיחוד הלאומי והבית היהודי, שתי מפלגות שעוברות את  א חוז החסימה "על הקשקש", לא יכנסו לכנסת, ולגוש הימין יאבדו כ-6 מנדטים.  האובדן הזה יתן לגוש השמאל רוב של 61 מנדטים .  ( ...)    

 

החישוב שכל מתלבט ציוני-דתי צריך לעשות לעצמו פשוט:  כארבעה עד חמישה מנדטים יצביעו לאיחוד הלאומי ולבית היהודי, איך שלא יהיה.  מה עדיף:   איזו בחורה מבית שמש, מקום 32 בליכוד, שתיכנס לכנסת, והבית היהודי והאיחוד הלאומי לא יעברו את אחוז החסימה  -     או לחילופין: הבחורה מבית שמש לא תיכנס, ובמקומה יכנסו כצלה, אורלב, אורבך, הרשקוביץ, אורי אריאל ואחרים.  מנדט או שניים לליכוד יכולים לגזול שישה מנדטים לגוש  הימין.   

 

נתניהו כינס השבוע מסיבת עיתונאים, וביקש מאנשי הציונות הדתית להצביע לליכוד.  אני יכול להבין אותו,  ...   אבל אם נתניהו היה חושב ...היה נמנע מהצעד המסוכן הזה.  זה עלול להיות ניצחון פירוס.  נתניהו חייב להבין שהאיחוד הלאומי והבית היהודי חיות כעת "על הקצה."  הן נכנסות לכנסת, אבל אם הוא יפעל נגדן הן ישארו בחוץ, והוא יהיה הנפגע העיקרי. 

 

 אם הבית היהודי והאיחוד הלאומי לא יעברו את אחוז החסימה – לבני תהיה ראש הממשלה...לפעמים בחיים השורה התחתונה פשוטה, גם אם היא לא נשמעת כזו:

מצביעי ימין דתיים הרוצים שנתניהו ייבחר לראשות הממשלה – צריכים להצביע לבית היהודי ולאיחוד הלאומי."  

 

A big topic in the weekend papers was the 27 "unknown" Knesset seats. This is a reference to the hundreds of thousands of Israelis who have no idea who to vote for.

OUR JOB RIGHT NOW, IS TO FIND THESE PEOPLE before Election Day (Tuesday 10 February).  Please look around you for all the people who don't know anything about politics.

Such people need YOUR help in understanding that the main issue of this elections is preventing establishment of a Palestinian state, so no rockets fall into their living room, and they need information from YOU as to which parties are against Palestinian state, namely Ichud Leumi, Mafdal-Bayit Yehudi, Shas and Yisrael-Beytenu (Liberman). They also need your help in understanding this is THEIR  problem because THEY will be in the rocket-range of a Palestinian state, if they live – for example – in or near Jerusalem, Tel-Aviv, Ramat-Gan, Petah-Tikva, Holon, Bat-Yam, Givatayim, Bnei-Braq, Rishon leZion, Rehovot, Ramle, Modiin, Kfar Sabat, Netanya, Herzlia, Raanana, BG Airport, etc.

Look for members of your family or community who aren't into politics, look for young people who are first time voters, raise the issue with your baker, your banker, your doctor, your cleaner, your neighbor, your grocer and your metapelet. You can also go up to people on the street who have kindly cheery expressions. Ask them very frankly do they know that elections are being held, and who were they thinking of voting for. As soon as you hear "I just don't know…", explain to them about Palestinian state and how important it is for them to protect themselves by voting against it. Discuss the above parties with them in very simple terms and figure out which is best for them. FLASH! Even the Likud has mumbled a few words against Palestinian state: http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?cid=1233050185988&pagename=JPost%2FJPArticle%2FShowFull -- this occurred of course because of all of hard our work against Palestinian state -- thanks again to all volunteers, donors, flyer distributors, etc.

 

You will find many people who do not even know there are elections. You will find people voting for Barak and Livni simply because those are the only 2 politicians they have heard of ("I saw them on television" -- they mean, during the war.) You need to explain to those people that Barak and Livni are FOR Palestinian state and for that reason it would be foolish to vote for them. These people will often agree eagerly to vote for what you recommend, because most people, being sensible and normal, are not happy about the thought of a rocket landing in their living room, and Palestinian state will bring the rockets to EVERYBODY'S living room, including EVERY big city in Israel that you can think of.

 

As soon as you find a person of this description, please immediately write down their contact particulars so you can call them on election day and remind them of the party you both decided was best for them. Interesting tip by Yediot Ahronot's Hanoch Daum (precis):

"Zipi Livni's last chance to become prime-minister, simply, is if the Religious Zionists vote for the Likud. That is the only way that Netanyahu can lose these elections. The calculation is simple: by all accounts, the right bloc is 62 - 66 mandates. However, if the Religious Zionists vote Likud, the Ichud Leumi and Bayit Yehudi, which currently are just over the minimum percentage ("achuz chasima") will not get into the Knesset, in which case the right block loses about 6 mandates. This will give the left a majority of 61 mandates…. The calculations that the Religious Zinoists must make is simple: 4 - 5 mandates will vote for Ichud Leumi and Bayit Yehudi whatever happens. The question then becomes, is it better for some lady from BetShemesh, the Likud's No. 32, to get into the Knesset, and for the Bayit Yehudi and Ichud Leumi to be knocked out of the Knesset, or is it better for the lady from Bet Shemesh not to get in, and for Ketzaleh, Orlev, Hershowitz and Uri Ariel etc. to get in. One or two mandates for Likud can thus knock off SIX mandates for the right-wing bloc.

 

"Netanyahu at this week's press release asked the Religious Zionists to vote for Likud. I can understand him, but if he thinks about it, he will avoid this dangerous step. This could be a Pyrrhic victory. Netanyahu has to understand that the Ichud Leumi and Bayit Yehudi are just over the edge. They will make it into the Knesset, but if he moves against him they will not, and he - Netanyahu -- will be the big loser if that happens.

 

"If the Bayit Yehudi and Ichud Leumi do not clear the minimum percentage ("achuz chasima"), Livni will be prime-minister….Sometimes the bottom line is simple…Rightwing religious voters who want Netanyahu to be prime-minister, should vote Bayit Yehudi and Ichud Leumi".

Prevent election fraud -- volunteer for Arab voting stations:

Arab voting stations tend to work by having a handful of people turning up each holding a bagful of Teudot Zehut and voting on behalf of everybody in the bag. Or, the various members of the voting station staff divide up the "votes" (of voters who never actually turned up) between the parties (Arab parties, Kadima, etc.) according to a mutually agreed upon formula. To prevent this and keep down the number of false votes  in the Arab sector, volunteer to supervise and monitor Arab voting stations on Election Day (10 February). Contact  kalpiot@gmail.com to volunteer for this; indicate your full name, email, mobile phone, teudat zehut number, home address and where do you vote. Indicate if you have a car or a video camera, and do you speak Arabic and would you prefer to work from 8:00 to 2:30 PM, or from 2 PM to after votes have been counted.

Who's going to keep YOUR kids out of rocket range?

 

We went round and asked all the candidates for the next Knesset, in writing, which of them is against Palestinian state. Because if a Palestinian state is established in Yehuda & Shomron -- Tel-Aviv, Jerusalem and Ben-Gurion airport will be within rocket range, with 30 seconds warning time (worse than Ashdod).

 

Here are the results exactly as given to us by the parties -- please fw and please print out & hang everywhere:

 

Ichud Leumi:                                 ALL realistic candidates (100%) are opposed to Palestinian state - very good

Bayit Yehudi - Mafdal:                  ALL realistic candidates (100%)are opposed to Palestinian state - very good

 

Yisrael Beytenu (Liberman's party): ALL realistic candidates (100%) are opposed to Palestinian state - very good

Shas:                                               ALL realistic candidates  (100%)are opposed to Palestinian state - very good

 

Likud:                                               Only 25% of the realistic candidates are opposed to Palestinian state! - danger

UTJ (Yahadut haTorah):                  Only 17% of the realistic candidates are opposed to Palestinian state!- danger

 

Save Your Children!! Distribute this everywhere: fw it, print it, and hang it up, so people will know how to vote  on Election Day. Why was the Pollard clemency bid dismissed?

In spite of the heart-breaking outcome, Jonathan and Esther Pollard want to express their deepest thanks and appreciation to Rabbi Pesach Lerner and the National Council of Young Israel which spearheaded the Pollard clemency campaign in the United States; to Andrew Brooke and all of the J4JP Team; to Nissan GanOr and The Committee to Bring Jonathan Pollard Home; to our attorneys in the US and in Israel, to our family, friends and massive grassroots supporters -- for all that they have done over the last while, to participate in an intensive campaign to secure justice for Jonathan via presidential clemency.

Given the blood, sweat and tears that went into this campaign, it is deeply troubling that it was not successful. President Bush is gone and Jonathan, unjustly, remains in prison. We are, of course, deeply disappointed and very, very sad. Now that we have absorbed the initial blow and dried our tears, everyone is asking what went wrong.

Why did the Campaign Fail?
This was no ordinary campaign. After 24 years, we pulled out all stops in working for Jonathan's release. We had the best lawyers. They filed a dynamite petition that really explained the massive injustice and clearly demonstrated the gross disproportionality of Jonathan's sentence. We worked around the clock lobbying and making the right contacts. We had access to the White House and intensive behind-the-scenes contact. We had recommendations from those who matter most in the clemency process. We had massive grassroots support and participation in the US and Israel. In short, we left no stone unturned in doing whatever it took to present the best case to the President for commutation of Jonathan's life sentence to the 24 years he has already served.

Unfortunately, the hurdle we were not able to overcome, was a President who simply decided to dismiss all high profile petitions out of hand.  All of the high-profile petitions -- ones that might evoke the slightest controversy-- were left to the very end, and then simply ignored.

Why?  We don't really know.

Perhaps it was to avoid the kind of controversy that Bill Clinton created with a flurry of tainted pardons on his last day in office. Or perhaps for "legacy" purposes, so Bush might continue his reputation as a president who is very sparing with his power of clemency. So rather than pick and chose which high profile petitions to grant, Bush simply dismissed them all.

While this may sound even-handed, it is not if you consider that most of the other high profile petitions for pardons came from people who are not even  in prison!  Some never served any time, or they did time years ago and now they seek a pardon simply to restore some of their civil rights.  Others have yet to stand trial, but hope to pre-empt a sentence by having a pardon wipe out their crime. Few petitioners are actually in prison and they are serving relatively short sentences.

Only Jonathan is in his 24th year of a life sentence for an offense that has a median sentence of 2 to 4 years.
When President Bush  chose to ignore Pollard's petition along with all of the other petitions filed by those who are not prison nor in peril, he effectively compounded the injustice.

If the Government of Israel had weighed in on Jonathan's behalf with President Bush in  a meaningful way, perhaps the end result might have been different.  But that was not the case. Even after 24 years, the abandonment and betrayal of an agent in peril continues. Olmert, Livni, Barak and the whole gang remain devoted to those operations that will secure their own seats of power, and have little concern for the average Israeli, let alone concern for captives like Pollard or Shalit.

Israeli President Peres received pleas both publicly and privately for his intervention on behalf of Pollard. He managed to deflect them all.

So what next?

First of all, we are going to take a breather and regroup. In the meantime, remember, G-d still runs the world. Now more than ever is the time for prayer. This time we are praying for an open miracle: Jonathan home. Alive. Now!

We know of the massive support that is out there because of the volume of emails we are receiving. Although J4JP has been receiving a flurry of emails and comments, unfortunately telephone time for sharing them with Jonathan is very limited.

We urge all of our friends and supporters to take pen in hand and write to Jonathan. He has always referred to the letters he receives as his "oxygen". Let's keep the life support line open.

ELECTION UPDATE

 

1. The Likud is becoming a big concern. Please pass this email on urgently  because elections are very soon.

 

2. We remind you that Mattot Arim has been busy finding out which parties, exactly, oppose Palestinian state. After all, that must be the number one election issue, because the millions in Tel-Aviv, Jerusalem and Gush Dan must be kept out of rocket range if the economy, and the country, is to survive.

 

3. At the very top of this email (in the Hebrew section) there is a link. If you click on the link, you will view a news clip from Israel Channel 2, which explains that the Likud is trying to woo voters to move from the rightwing block, to itself, the big party.

 

4. This is a dangerous new political development -- because so far, Likud is NOT opposing establishment of a Palestinian state just a bike-ride away from Jerusalem, Tel-Aviv, Gush Dan and Ben-Gurion airport. Anyone who opposes establishment of a terror state right next to Israel's population centers, has EXACTLY THE OPPOSITE INTEREST to that voiced by the Likud, namely, to strengthen the rightwing bloc whose parties DO OPPOSE Palestinian state. Currently, even after everything that has happened down south, the Likud still is not willing to become part of that crucial, Palestinian-state-opposing bloc -- this is what our research thus far has shown us.  

 

5. Please pass this on -- ask your friends to check every piece of Likud campaign material they encounter: Does it contain or not contain a clear Likud COMMITMENT to oppose Palestinian state -- to oppose rockets in Jerusalem, Tel-Aviv and Gush Dan?  

 

6. Don't repeat errors made in our recent past. Save the children -  vote only for parties which OPPOSE Palestinian state.

Vote for Likud ONLY if it opposes Palestinian state!
