חווארה Hawara
מה שקרה באזור חווארה בשנה האחרונה. ב- 26 בפברואר נרצחו שם בפיגוע ירי שני אחים יהודים צעירים, הגל ויגל יעקב. ב- 19 במרץ נפצע שם באורח בינוני מירי בבטחנו דייויד שטרן. 6 ימים אחר כך נפצעו שם בפיגוע ירי, קשה ובינוני, שני לוחמי צה"ל. ב- 4 במאי נפצע שם צעיר כבן 20 בפיגוע דקירה. ב- 17 במאי סוכל שם ניסיון לפיגוע דריסה. ארבעה ימים אחר כך נפצע לוחם צה"ל בפיגוע דריסה. עוד שבועיים וחצי עברו לפני שאזרח נפצע קל מפיגוע ירי לעבר מכוניתו. ב- 9 ביוני ניסתה מחבלת לדקור קצינה ונוטרלה. באוגוסט נרצחו שם שי סיילאס ניגרקר בן ה-60 ובנו אביעד בן ה-29. שלושה שבועות לפני מתקפת חמאס בדרום, נפצעו בגזרת חווארה שני צעירים ישראלים מאש של מחבל. ביום חמישי, יומיים לפני שחמאס פרץ את גדר הגבול בעזה, מחבל נוסף ריסס באש מכונית ובה בני זוג וביתם הפעוטה, שיצאו בנס, פיגוע שבעקבותיו הקים ח"כ צבי סוכות במחאה את אותה סוכה, שאותה פירק אחרי שעתיים וחצי לבקשת גורמי הצבא. הרשימה הזו איננה אלא רשימה חלקית שלא כוללת פיגועים "קלים" יותר, של אבנים ובקבוקי תבערה וניסיונות פיגוע שלא צלחו.

I will not allow us to replace Hamastan with Fatahstan, replace Khan Yunis with Jenin. Haven't we learned anything? As the Prime Minister of Israel, I will not allow that to happen. It is important to make this clear now because among friends we must tell the truth and not foster illusions, how much more so on an existential and fateful issue such as this.
