Highlights: Likud ministers are asleep, new Likud MKs surprisingly good.  Shas doubles UTJ.

Jewish Home doubles Liberman's party - National Union creams both

 

Gone are the days when Knesset Members and ministers can slack off and YOU the voter know nothing about it. Attached is our Report on the first (Summer) session of this Knesset which has just terminated. The report lists all activities and initiatives carried out by all MKs in pro-Israel ("right") parties, pertaining to all pro-Israel topics such as Palestinian state - danger for Israel, building Judea and Samaria, encouraging critical-location outposts, protecting civil rights for right-wing persons including settlers, checking hostile media,  balances for the High Court of Justice, no release of terrorists, promoting the war on terror, and checking hostility of Israel's Arab population.  

 

It's hard for some of us to read the attached detailed Hebrew report of political activity, so after first thanking Gidon, our volunteer graphics editor, here is a summary  of our name-by-name results! Each number below sums the number of Action Items (motions, bills, statements, votes etc.) carried by the relevant legislator, regarding the above topics, from the day the present Knesset session opened (24 February 2009) until a week before the present session ended -- 22 July 2009.

Minister Shalom from the Likud, why are you so intent on building a new PALESTINIAN city instead of building ISRAELI cities like Ariel, the Jewish capital city of the Shomron?

This shows, again, that when the public and its representatives work together on the same issues, this is extremely helpful and useful. So, could you possibly think which friends and relatives have a pro-Eretz Yisrael orientation? On Sunday afternoon (14 Feb), the Ministers' Legislation Committee will be debating whether to legislate compensation (pitzuy in Hebrew) for our fellow citizens in Judea and Samaria who suffered economic damage due to the settlement freeze. Obviously all ministers MUST vote in favor of at least compensating for losses (broken contracts, need for rentals, etc). Please SMS to the relevant ministers – see ministers' cell phone numbers above. An example SMS: "On Sunday, pls vote YES to pitzuy for mitnachalim hit by settlement freeze. Thx! (add your name)"

משמרת מחאה היום מול אהוד ברק (עם תמונה)

תושבי מרכז מוחים מול אהוד ברק: "מתנכל למתנחלים במקום להגן על המדינה"

תושבי מרכז הארץ וגוש דן ערכו משמרת מחאה נגד אהוד ברק באוניברסיטת בר-אילן, שם הרצה שר הבטחון אהוד ברק לרגל כנס של המועצה הישראלית לניהול. מחוץ לאולם נערכה משמרת מחאה כנגד ההתנכלות של ברק לתושבי יהודה ושומרון, נגד תכנית ההקפאה, ונגד שימוש בצה"ל למשימות פוליטיות שאינן משימות בטחון. תמונה מצ"ב. לבאי הכנס חולק חומר הסברה.

המפגינים הלינו על כך שברק הורה להסיר מחסומים ביהודה ושומרון. עקב כך נסיונות פיגוע מתרחשות יום-יום ביהודה ושומרון לדברי המפגינים. בנ, וסף "מתוך נקמה וללא שום מידתיות" לדברי המפגינים, הלוחם המצטיין שהניף שלט שקרא לא להשתתף בגירוש יהודים, סולק מהצבא על סעיף התנהגות פרועה. לטענת המפגינים סעיף זה ניתן רק לפושעים ומסוממים. סעיף זה חוסם בפני הלוחם המצטיין לשעבר אפשרות לקבל עבודה או להתקבל ללמודים במוסד אקדמי מוכר, אמר יוני גורמזנו, תושב פתח-תקווה שהשתתף בהפגנה, בשם  המפגינים.

 

לטענת המפגנינים, כוחות ביטחון פרצו ב-04.00 לפנות בוקר למגורי קטינים בישיבת יצהר, יישוב בשומרון . מספר ילדים נעצרו. לטענת המפגינים חלק מן הכוחות היו רעולי פנים. אחד מהילדים לדברי המפגינים היה פצוע קשה מפגיעת אבן גדולה שהושלכה עליו ע"י פלשתיני. הילד נמצא בתקופת החלמה, לפני ניתוח נוסף בראשו אך לא עזרו בקשות חבריו ומדריכיו להניח לו.  הפריצה והמעצרים נעשו תוך הפרת הנהלים הקבועים בחוק הנוער לדברי המפגינים.

 

אהוד ברק מפעיל את הצבא בניגוד לקוד האתי של צה"ל, טענו המפגינים. "מתוך הקוד האתי של צה"ל ניתן להבין חד משמעית כי אין זה מתפקידו של צה"ל לעקור ישובים אלא להגן על העם והארץ מפני אויביו, " אמרה שרה רופא תושבת איזור המרכז בשם המפגינים.  "מטרת צה"ל היא להגן על קיומה של מדינת ישראל ועל עצמאותה...חיילי צה"ל יפעלו עפ"י ערכי צה"ל ופקודותיו, תוך שמירה על חוקי המדינה וכבוד האדם. האם תושבי יו"ש אינם בחזקת בני אדם? והאם לא ראינו את התוצאות הרות האסון של עקירת גוש קטיף? כתוב בקוד האתי במפורש: החייל לא ישתמש בנשקו ובכוחו כדי לפגוע בבני אדם שאינם לוחמים, מדוע אהוד ברק קורע לגזרים את צבא העם! אנו חושבים שצריך להעביר בדחיפות את חוק אחדות צה"ל בכנסת כדי לפתור בעיה זו.

 

"מטות ערים" של הימין פועלים בערים רבות בארץ משנות ה-90 ומטרתם לתמוך בהתיישבות ביהודה ושומרון. בגלל ההקפאה והתמיכה של ראש הממשלה בהקמת מדינה פלשתינית, מטות אלה נכנסות שוב לפעולה בימים אלה.

השבוע התברר שבניגוד לכל ההבטחות, גם של ראש הממשלה עצמו, וגם של שר החינוך, משרד הביטחון לא יאשר יותר בניית כיתות וגנים ביהודה ושומרון.

OUT OF CONTROL

It's been promised so many times -- the building freeze against Yehuda and Shomron will NOT apply to schools, which will continue to be built as usual. Both Prime Minister Netanyahu and Education Minister Gidon Saar have promised this to the public. 

 

But this week it turns out that Mr. Barak has no intention of approving construction of schools. This was discovered by  Knesset Members who heard it from a legal advisor of Defense Minister Barak. Here's background:

It gives us much pleasure to bring to your attention details of our newly formed Bible Land Flights.  We believe there is an opening or niche for a high quality aerial sightseeing experience of this nature which has yet to be developed     Our aim is to reach out to visitors to this country with an interest in Israel's wealth of Biblical archaeological sites - the discerning traveller, the photography enthusiast, the film-maker, the travel writer, journalist or reporter and others - who would welcome this unique opportunity of viewing them from the air.   The pre-flight briefing, the guiding and the information pack components of the experience, under the auspices of leading archaeologist Professor Shimon Gibson are all on the highest level.  Pilot Zeev Manobla has had many years of experience in both civilian and military aviation, and has done much guiding work with overseas visitors.  Publicity, bookings, and office administration are handled by veteran broadcast journalist Sara Manobla who rounds out the team.

 

It is our hope that professionals in the tourist industry will wish to offer this experience to their clients, including it in the program options for their visit.  Bible Land Flights can also be purchased as a distinctive and original gift or mark of appreciation to honour a very special guest or client.    The cost for the first few months is an introductory one, at our very reasonable all-inclusive price of 3000 NIS or $800 for 3 passengers for the use of private plane and services of pilot for the 2 hour flight, with pre-flight briefing and info-kit.   Specialist guiding, in the air, by Professor Gibson, for two passengers can be arranged at extra cost.
