Minister Liberman resigned today -- Minister Eli Yishai refuses to follow
We are all very grateful to Mr. Liberman for resigning from the Olmert Government. This was an excellent step. Land-for-Peace equals failure, said Mr. Liberman earlier today (Wed.). Liberman said the land-for-peace formula that has governed Israeli negotiations for nearly 20 years has been a dramatic failure, and stressed that "There was terrorism ...before 1967 [when Israel liberated Judea and Samaria]... Anyone who chooses to ignore that fact brings destruction to the Jewish state". Liberman added that "Anyone who says [Israel's conflict] with the Arabs is about territory, settlements or outposts is deceiving himself and others."
When a minister finally resigns in Israel, it is very very important to simply write and thank him. Your letter of thanks should go to: aliberman@knesset.gov.il. It will probably be shown to reporters. The Subject Line should be labelled "Letter of Thanks", "Thank you from YOUR NAME" or "Thanks from an Oleh living in CITY" etc., so the aides will know they should print out your letter and put it in the pile of thank you letters that the minister will be showing reporters from Israel and abroad to show that his resignation was a good idea and well-accepted by everyone.
Despite our letter of yesterday, do NOT mention the teenage dissident girls who have been in jail for weeks in your letter to Mr. Liberman's office. If Mr. Liberman has resigned, the responsibility for these girls, from today, belongs solely to Minister Eli Yishai who can be reached at Fax 02-6662909 Phone 02-6662255.

המתנחלות הצעירות יושבות בכלא עם כל הפושעים האלימים של המדינה: כדאי מאד להתקשר לשרי הימין בממשלה, אלי ישי ואביגדור ליברמן, ולשאול האם נכוןש-9 בנות מתנחלות צעירות כלואות בכלא, חלקן 3 שבועות ואחת אף יותר מכך, כאשר הן מואשמות ב...נוכחות במאחז. לטענת המדינה - אסור ליהודים להיות נוכחים במאחזים. רוב הבנות צעירות מאד: בנות 14 בלבד. מי שמצוי במערכת הפלילית יודע, שאפילו פושעים מועדים ומסוכנים בגיל הזה, לא נכלאים בבתי סוהר, בטח לא לתקופה כ"כ ארוכה, אבל מתנחלות - דווקא כן.אם ישאלו מה שמות הבנות יש לומר שאתם יודעים רק שם אחד: צביה שריאל מאלון מורה. אם יגידו שלא ידוע לשר שום דבר על אותם בנות, יש להציע בנימוס שהשר יצלצל לראש הממשלה ויברר - כדי לא להישאר במצב של חוסר ידע בעניין כה חשוב. אם יגידו מדוע התקשרתם ומדוע לא שלחתם פקס ניתן בהחלט לומר שאין לכם פקס ולכן החלטתם להתקשר, שהרי בכל לשכת שר יש קבלת קהל טלפונית (עובדה שהטלפנית שאתם מדברים איתה, יושבת בלשכה, בדיוק למטרה הזו...). לא להפקיר את הבנות הצעירות הללו שמאד זקוקות לגב שלנו היות שהן במצב מאד מאד קשה ומלחיץ.

Following orders!! Here is an article - in Hebrew -- which brings out that the pogrom in Amona in which hundreds of peaceful youngsters were badly beaten, was no accident -- that this was orchestrated by senior elements in the Israeli police force. World's greatest Talmudic scholar to Bush: No to Palestinian state
"And thus if you truly desire peace and benevolence, and you would be counted in the company of the truly righteous, we call upon you to declare to all the world: The Land of Israel was bequeathed to the nation of Israel by the Creator of the world. Neither could I, as a son of my faith, nor the Muslims according to their faith, ever take away even the slightest grain from the Eternal's gift, which He gave to His people Israel, the eternal people. Thus I call upon all the nations to save themselves from certain doom, to return and recognize That this land is the exclusive rightful inheritance of the people of Israel, as is written in the Torah of Israel, which constitutes the very foundation of our faith, as well as that of Islam; and is the basis for the decisions of the community of nations. He who denies this truth endangers all life on earth....I cannot simultaneously support the establishment of a foreign state for an alien nation in the Land of Israel, and I will not lend my hand to this wrong.

The proclamation states that all of the various agreements involving Israel such as the Oslo process, disengagment plan and establishment of a terrorist state, "are the result of a lack of sufficient faith in the Divine promises that the Lord made to the patriarchs of our nation, and all that is written in the Torah of Israel. Understand this well: the nations of the world cannot excuse their actions and their decisions on account of the weakness of Israel and her government. God ordained that the role of the nations of the world is to strengthen the nation of Israel. This will benefit all humanity and bring about world peace, as the prophets have foretold."
The proclamation calls on President Buth to authorize the immediate release of Jonathan Pollard "while you are yet in Jerusalem, before you return to the United States" and to "[r]emember our forefather Abraham, who pursued the world's four greatest kings in order to redeem his nephew from captivity.... Before you is a choice: You can merit to eternal life, or be inscribed for eternal disgrace. Your fate and that of all those with you hangs in the balance of the destiny of our land, "and you shall choose life!" (Deut. 30:19).

The OU and the Rabbi Wolpe Affair
An Israeli rabbi, Rabbi Wolpe, accused Prime Minister Olmert of being a traitor on Thursday, noting that he and others were aiding Nazi-like Palestinian terrorists by giving them money and weapons and releasing terrorist killers from prison. Olmert and others should be hanged for collaborating with Nazi-like terrorists, Rabbi Wolpe said.

Arutz Sheva reported that the OU (largest Orthodox Jewish umbrella organization in the USA) officially condemned the above. Mattot Arim looked through the OU website for previous condemnations of the many instances in which PM Olmert's unpopular government has indeed, unfortunately, given documented terrorists money, weapons and their freedom from prison -- exactly as pointed out by Rabbi Wolpe -- and found none . Perhaps we did not look in the right places on the OU website or maybe there is some reasonable explanation for this omission. Mattot Arim recommends by contacting the OU urgently to sort out this issue; here is an example of a letter:
"Dear OU leaders Stephen Savitsky and Rabbi Dr. Weinreb, It it my understanding that the OU condemned passionate -- perhaps over-passionate -- statements on the part of Rabbi Wolpe insisting that Prime Minister Olmert is a traitor to the Jewish people who deserves to be hanged. It is not my intention to argue about whether I agree with Rabbi Wolpe's precise wording, the OU's wording, or neither. I only wish to ask, and I would greatly appreciate a prompt response, whether the OU under your leadership has previously done its duty toward the Jewish people in a much more primary and immediate sense, by releasing solemn and frequent condemnatory statements about EACH of the following:
* an OU condemnatory statement needs to come out EACH TIME (once a month, according to reports) PM Olmert gives the Palestinian Authority millions of dollars as correctly noted by Rabbi Wolpe, despite the Palestinian Authority's documented direct and continuous involvement both in terrorism and in incitement, and despite the at least two previous occasions when hundreds of millions of Olmert-provided dollars ended up in Hamas coffers as reported not long ago in large Israeli headlines.
* an OU condemnatory statement needs to come out EACH TIME terrorists are given weapons by PM Olmert as corrected noted by Rabbi Wolpe -- which has been roundly condemned here in Israel by both political and military figures
* an OU condemnatory statement should have come out EACH TIME terrorists have been released from prison by the Olmert government, in the past few months, again as accurately noted by Rabbi Wolpe, instead of serving out their sentences for life threatening crimes they were duly convicted of: attempted murder, shooting at persons, cars and communities, and placing explosive devices.
I look forward to receipt of a rapid response from the OU on these extremly important matters which are existential and urgent for Israel and 6 million Jews. Sincerely yours, (YOUR NAME)."
